I’ve spent most of this morning getting some things organized around the house for Christmas.
Which has given me lots of time to think.
And what’s on my mind (bear with me I have a neurozesty brain) is flag planting and flowers.
We watched the Michigan v Ohio State football game yesterday.
And we were pretty appalled by the brawl at the end.
I had to watch the replays to realize it was triggered by Michigan’s attempt to plant their flag in the O after their victory.
In all, there were 4 teams who tried this flag planting gimmick at the end of their games yesterday. And Penn State attempted this at the USC game back in October. Thankfully, Coach Franklin was having none of it and removed the flag from the player.
I have a LOT of thoughts about how this all went down. And having a daughter who is deep in the studies of security and risk analysis, we’ve had some lively texts in our family chat.
I’ll bottom line it. (Oh wait can a neurozesty person even do that!?! Lol)
Flag planting is about claiming a territory. Done frequently by the British as they conquered the world centuries ago. And more recently by Russia at the north pole.
It’s just not necessary. It detracts from the game by causing a fight. Celebrate and enjoy the win but please skip the flag planting.
Y'all know I just have so much more to say on this but I promised to bottom line it.
So what in the Sam Hill does flag planting have to do with ADHD or productivity? And where are the flowers.
Part two -
I’m studying with Patty Lennon to grow my intuitive gifts and this morning’s card was a girl standing in winter with an empty flower basket.
On the other side of the tree is spring with a field filled with flowers.
I’m to look only at the image (I cover the word at the bottom with my thumb because no way I'm not looking) and write down my first thought which was
“Why is the girl standing in winter when she can be gathering flowers in spring?”
(That’s clearly metaphorical because winter, my least favorite season, is bearing down on us in Connecticut.)
The card is called Hope.
Ooooooo...fireworks and magic explode in my brain!
How could we make flag planting a positive?
What if it could be like gathering your flowers and then sharing them?
And planting your flag is making a space for yourself and your brilliance in this world.
Putting the best of you out into the world for all to see.
Maybe even...dare I say it...bringing hope into the world.
The world needs your voice.
The world needs your flowers.
Can you pause for a moment and imagine how that would look for you?
Side note - One of our neurozesty gifts is connecting completely different things to make something entirely new. I love this about my brain.
Maybe it’s that dream project that you’ve been putting off for years that you know you and so many others would benefit from, like
- Writing a book
- Creating a new course
- Starting a podcast
Maybe it’s something personal.
You want to learn how to
- Ride a horse
- Cook a mediterranean meal, maybe in the Mediterranean
- Play guitar
One of my clients has a crazy busy life and couldn’t figure out how to make time for her art. She started taking courses on her day off.
Another wanted to exercise more but juggles a family business and 3 active young boys. She takes 2 evenings at the gym each week and the other days she and her husband jog at the track while the kids kick around a ball in the field in the middle.
Inspired?
On Wednesday, Dec 4th at 10am ET, I’m hosting the 4 Step Neurozesty Process to Clarify your Top 2025 Goal masterclass.
I postponed it last week because I was sick.
I’m still recovering, including laryngitis, so I’m staying very quiet for the next few days!
My dream is to have at least 30 people attend.
And my delay is your gain because now you can be one of them.
Pause for an hour on Wednesday and join us to start dreaming about 2025.
